I heard they suck live

There comes a time in every person’s life when they realise they’re too old to go to gigs. For shame, that age now seems to come shortly after the right to vote and access to live music isn’t granted again until your mid thirties. Being way too old for the first category and while waiting on the days when I want to wear skintight black jeans and stand at the back of concerts nodding my head appreciatively, I’ve been left with only one option.

Tomorrow night, a school night my local Odeon cinema are playing a Ramones concert. I am seriously considering going down to enjoy 120 minutes of unreserved punk action caught on film while I sit in a plush chair, munching on peanut M&Ms.

Odeon promise that Ramones It’s Alive 74 -96 will “Span the Ramones’ career from CBGB to their last international performance in Argentina.” I promise the Odeon I’ll sit still and not crunch my sweets too loudly.

It’s not all bad news, if you behave yourself you can take in a single beer in a plastic cup. How punk is that?
