Wii will rock you.
Cheesy post title I know. Especially with all the options open to me. Just be pleased I didn’t go with playing with my Wii which seemed to be the top blog choice when Nintendo’s latest came out in September last year. At that point, you couldn’t get your hands on a Wii console for love nor money. Well, you could for money, it just meant standing in a long queue with some sweaty teenage boys and then being granted the privilege of purchasing the £179 RRP console in a bundle totting up to around £400.
Back then I didn’t really want one, but I figured I’d come round. I’ve always sided with Nintendo with NES/SNES/64/Gamecube, plus a couple of different Gameboys along the way. I admit in recent years I’ve expanded a little, there’s a PSP in my house not to mention a 360 and there was an original XBOX before that. But Nintendo have always had a special place in my heart.
Despite years of amazing consoles (except the Gamecube, face it), I wasn’t convinced about the Wii. In fact, months passed and I still didn’t want a Wii. My best friend who is always broke got his mitts on one, it didn’t phase me. I even went out and bought one for a wedding gift and handed it over without a moment’s test driving. Then today, the first day of a four day short break, we’re walking out of HMV and the shopping bag has Wii in it.
After only eight hours or so of gameplay, I can say for sure that it rocks. I’d add more but I have to go work on my golf swing.
