Little Red Lights
Our 360 has broken down – three quarters of the circular power button are flashing red, meaning the little white box has kicked the bucket. Without it, I’m sorely missing Guitar Hero II, Gears of War and Oblivion.
While the little plastic guitar is gathering dust in a wicker basket, I’ve been looking for other ways to relax. I could of course learn how to play a real guitar, but while I feel I’ve got hours to spare practicing the solo on Jessica when that means pressing four coloured buttons in the right order, I don’t think I have enough time to focus on taking up a real instrument again.
On the plus side, I did get a bit of real life Oblivion action this evening by walking around St James’ Park at dusk. By squinting, I could almost imagine the hobos were a series of friendly strangers offering me a quest that didn’t start with spare any change…?
All that was missing for my real life RPG was a horse and a bit of surging music. If only I’d stuck with Nintendo then maybe the Horse Guard’s Parade would have looked enough like the Lon Lon Ranch for me to volt the fence and rescue my first horse.
